Ceph as a distributed storage has been popular for storage capacity oriented workloads. But for the workloads which requires high performance Ceph is catching up. NVDIMM is a new device which acts like memory but with high performance and storage-like persistency. We implemented a crash-consistent cache in librbd which uses persistent memory as cache device. Currently the work is upstreaming. In this proposal, it mainly introduces the overall design, key implementations and shows the performance test results used by popular performance-sensitive applications.
